Point of Contact (POC)

A Point of Contact is a technical expert within a jurisdiction (country, province, or other entity) who serves as the first connection for questions related to vaccine coding. This individual should have a strong technical understanding of vaccination coding, either directly or through collaboration with coding teams. Their role involves:

  • Answering technical questions about vaccine coding strategies.
  • Facilitating peer-to-peer exchanges of coding solutions and best practices.
  • Acting as a non-published resource exclusive to IVC members, ensuring privacy and focused collaboration.
  • Gaining access to a global network of other POCs for direct exchanges on international coding practices.

Additional Considerations: This position emphasizes technical expertise and discretion. Recruitment should target individuals in organizations responsible for immunization information systems (IIS) or equivalent structures, leveraging their access to authoritative data.

Country Liaison

A Country Liaison is an advocate and coordinator for a specific country, focusing on building and maintaining connections with local vaccination coding stakeholders. Their responsibilities include:

  • Supporting IVC activities and participating in discussions.
  • Gathering information on the country’s immunization practices and coding frameworks.
  • Identifying and recruiting a POC for their designated country.
  • Ensuring the POC is well-integrated into the group and stays updated on relevant developments.
  • Acting as a backup resource if the POC is unavailable, ensuring continuity.

Additional Considerations: Country Liaisons should ideally have cultural or professional ties to the country they represent, helping them effectively navigate local nuances. This role is suitable for professionals passionate about global health and with experience in international collaboration.
